How African-American Political Discourse Was Dumbed Down To The Point Of Mental Retardation

I’ve been mulling over some additional things I’ve felt the urge to say now that dystopia has arrived. But that’s for later. For now, I’d like the reading audience to pause for a moment and get some clarity about how “mainstream” African-American (AA) political discourse was dumbed down to the point of mental retardation during the Obama years.

Here are 2 videos (that are worth watching in their entirety), and some links to a few other materials that are worth your time.

Why Black Media Failed During Obama's Presidency

5 Actions Obama could have taken for Blacks without the Republican Congress

Here’s the email reply I gave to a reader who asked what I thought about financially supporting the Breaking Brown writer Yvette Carnell’s work on YouTube, etc.:

Happy New Year!

Since you asked---LOL:

The arguments against giving Yvette & Crew financial support:

(1) I don't feel that their work does any specific good for African-American Black women. Yvette is extremely BM-identified and seems to assume that gains for AABM will automatically "trickle down" to benefit AA Black women and AA Black children. And we know it does not work like that. Which leads to point #2 of the against argument.

(2) Not wanting to pay Becky's light bill. It almost goes without saying that the 2 BM who actively participate in her stuff the Irami (however his name is spelled) and the Antonio guy are totally BM-identified. The Antonio guy also remarked in one video that it's ridiculous for anybody to raise the issue of Byron Allen giving his wealth to his White wife.

In terms of the "con" argument, the bottom line is that NONE of them are paying any real attention to the specific interests of AA Black womenOn top of this, the massive wealth transfers that BM like Byron Allen and the Irami individual give to the White collective by way of their White wives seems to be invisible to all 3 of them.

The arguments for giving Yvette & Crew financial support:

(1) The consciousness-raising that Yvette & Crew are doing is priceless in terms of AA Blacks learning to set ethnic boundaries with the various foreign Black parasites that want to continue sucking our blood and stealing the gains created by our AA civil rights martyrs.

(2) The consciousness-raising that Yvette & Crew are doing is priceless in terms of AA Blacks learning to see Pres. Obama, Kamala Harris and other biracial/foreign-origin Black-ish Trojan horse carpetbaggers for what they are. Yvette & Crew are the only mainstream AA voices (unlike the Living In A 1960s Time Warp Socialists over at Black Agenda Report that nobody pays any attention to anyway) I've heard give a sustained, fact-based critique of how Obama pimped the AA collective.

She's also the only mainstream AA voice I've heard give the warning about Kamala Harris, who is being groomed and cultivated as another Obama-esque Trojan horse politician. Like Obama, this Kamala Harris broad physically looks like AAs, has learned how to imitate the outward forms of AA ways of speaking and culture (IIRC, she pledged AKA in college)---but she has ZERO connection to the AA lineage. She's half negro male Jamaican and half East Indian. From what little I've read about Kamala Harris, it sounds like the Latino illegals and other immigrants own her.

Obama was the prototype of a new breed of Black-ish-looking politicians who imitate AAs and ride AA civil rights martyrs' coat tails all the way to the top--while throwing AAs under the bus. It's an extremely dangerous development. AAs don't seem to realize that these Black-ish Trojan horse politicians never had any affection or respect for us until after it's too late. In the case of the die-hard Obama stans, they'll never wake up and smell the coffee about him.

In terms of the "pro" argument, the bottom line is that (as Yvette has said) Black politics and politicians in the US are in grave danger of becoming totally post-African-American. Yvette is the ONLY mainstream AA voice I've heard sounding the alarm about that.

I said all of the above to say that everybody has to draw their own lines in the sand about whether or not to financially support Yvette's work. {smile}
Here are a couple of Ms. Carnell's recent Facebook posts regarding the above-mentioned topics:

More on Kamala Harris.
Doesn't this sound a lot like President Barack Obama's story? A black dad who doesn't appear to have been around much? And a non-black mother? But all of that is washed away because she lived in a black neighborhood and at one point, attended Howard University and pledged AKA.
If you're thinking of how she's going to be on immigration, consider that she's the daughter of immigrants.
From Wikipedia:
"Harris was born in Oakland, California. She is the daughter of an Indian-American mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan Harris, a breast cancer specialist, who immigrated from Chennai, India, in 1960, and a Jamaican-American father, Donald Harris, a Stanford University economics professor. She has one younger sister, Maya, a lawyer and public policy advocate, who is now married to Tony West, a former Associate Attorney General of the United States. Kamala's parents divorced when she was young.
Her mother had primary custody of the two girls, who were raised in Berkeley, California; Oakland; and Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where their mother took a position doing research at the Jewish General Hospital and teaching at McGill University. Harris's mother died in 2009. In Berkeley, the family lived in a black neighborhood and the girls sang in a Baptist choir.
After graduating from Montreal's Westmount High School, Harris attended Howard University in Washington, D.C.,[15] where she joined the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, and received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1989.[16] Harris failed the California bar exam her first time, later observing, "it's not a measure of your capacity."[17] She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1990."
"She's going to be out there defending those DREAMer kids because they're a big part of her constituency," he said. "But she's got African-American roots. She's got Asian roots. She's female. She's tough. She's smart. She's going to become a big deal."
The next neoliberal superstar is Kamala Harris, apparently. Anybody who is for everybody ain't for anybody folks. Or they're just lying.
"Kamala Harris will always be the women to me who never met a San Francisco landlord she didn't like or a black guy who she didn't size up for handcuffs. (Even Willie Brown, but, you know, in a different way.)"
At least do your research this time folk before falling for another great black hope.

The Clinton family's grip on the Democratic Party has come to an end and it's time for a new generation of leadership to lead the party, CNN political commentator Van Jones said.

Irami Osei-Frimpong What's striking is that this argument all comes down to whether to give Kamala Harris the benefit of the doubt on black stuff. She has been in office for over twenty years and probably been running for office since she was sixteen, if she cared about getting money into the hands of black people, we'd know by now.

She doesn't give a damn about poor Negroes.

Case settled.
Daremy Butler Tell it, Irami.
Irami Osei-Frimpong We are all acting as if she is new, and we are trying to figure out her politics. We don't have to. At best, she is Cory Booker west.
Daremy Butler Exactly. I met Kamala Harris a few years back at a conference. Nothing impressive.
KL Molymo Irami Osei-Frimpong thank you for your consistent focus and clarity on identifying who IS NOT an ally.
Kathleen Wells Here's another --for everybody. Which translates to : Blacks get absolutely nothing
Daremy Butler Y'all read this. Trump calls Rahm Emanuel out which is something Obama wouldn't do. And, Rahm asks Trump not to take a hard line against illegal immigration. Rahm or any of these other Dems ain't got shit to say about Blacks killing one another.

Guy Corleon She's ONLY gonna look out for the DREAMers. like Irami said: she's been in office for over two decades. More than enough time for her to do something for poor black ppl. I'm not falling for this con game any longer.

*Please note for the purposes of “I’m Not Paying Becky’s Light Bill” considerations (which are important for deciding with whom to invest one’s money as an African-American Black woman):

The gentleman who produces Ms. Carnell’s YouTube videos, Irami Osei-Frimpong, is half-African-American and half-continental African. He’s also married to a nonblack woman.

Van Jones is also married to a White woman. As I said in earlier posts:
Investing money into negro males who give that money to nonblack girlfriends and wives does not lead to Black economic growth. Instead, it leads to generations of BW’s money being diverted AWAY from Black people and transferred TO nonblack women and these women’s nonblack communities. As I gave examples of in THIS POST

Investing money into negro males who give that money to nonblack girlfriends and wives leads to generational poverty for African-American Black women and their Black children.

All of which should have been obvious to African-American Black women after 50+ years experience of giving money to BM celebrities (and other affluent BM) who then gave our money to nonblack women. [After the civil rights movement made it safe for these negro males to chase and marry White women.]
Anyhoo, everybody’s mileage can and should vary.
